The post office is not my enemy..

Today was a busy day since I had to prepare everything to mail transcript forms and recommendation letters to my professors. I got up early to try to buy some white envelopes when I noticed they didn't sell plain, white envelopes so I got the Chinese kind anyways. I planned to have lunch with my cousin who knows how to speak English. She used to live in the U.S. for a couple of years. We had a great lunch and she was really sweet because she was willing to go with me to the post office.

I was nervous since we were going to the same post office that I had trouble with last time and although I was with my cousin, I was a tad bit scared. I just wanted to mail things and get out! The only problem we had this time was that I used the wrong envelope since there is a "western" type envelope I need to use when mailing things to the U.S. The guy didn't understand why I was spending so much money on mailing a packet and my cousin made a really good point. She said usually Taiwanese people fold their documents and put them in small envelopes to save money so the worker didn't understand why my letter was so big and why I needed a big envelope.

I didn't want to fold it since it was a professional document but I understood his thinking. I know I didn't have any patience with the man since he was the one that critique me before but it was fine. My cousin helped me and I just had to rewrite the addresses on new envelopes. I got everything mailed out. I won't have to go to the post office until maybe a couple of weeks but I will admit, I will probably go to the one that is near my work lol I just need to realize that the people at the post office aren't trying to attack me. I know they mean well because they want me to save money but it's hard when there is a language barrier and you just want them to mail things and they just keep talking and lecturing you of how expensive it is to mail things to the U.S. lol
