Teacher's Point of View

My Tues. night class is a really good class full of smart students who are very young. There English is pretty good for only being 9-10 years old. They are in the upper K level which is almost advanced and for this unit quiz they had to write questions and answers dealing with be + verb-ing ex: I am swimming, and using past tense. Then they had to match the sentences together and then make questions using "who", "what", "when", "what time", "where", "how", and "did". They also had to write sentences using "before", "after", and "when". Since the unit quiz takes awhile, I usually would bring something to grade. I forgot but it didn't matter anyway since a lot of the students had questions. It's really intense seeing everyone taking the test because it reminded me of the GRE. Everyone was really stressed out, sighing, looking at the paper exasperated, and some really confused. I wonder if my Chinese teachers thought the same way when I took a Chinese test? lol

After Drew and I went running, we went to a grocery market and the lady directly asked me if he had a card in Chinese. Drew would answer back and she would ask me if he wanted to buy a bag. It was strange since she talked to Drew before in Chinese and this time she just spoke to me. She was rude about it and it happens all the time where people would look directly at me since I'm Asian and they think I can speak Chinese when Drew can speak it better than me lol
