Funny French Names..not really

I taught a new class today that just changed from a K middle class to an advanced (A) class. It was their first day and we were going over the instructions to do voc. They started learning countries and nationalities and there is this activity game where you just mingle with people to talk about where you are from. The questions are "What is your name?" and "Where do you come from?" The countries were France, Australia, China/Taiwan, Spain, and America. The names fit the country that they were from and they all were laughing at the French names. One of the names were Jean-Paul and Anne-Marie and they thought they were hilarious. They would just continuously repeat "Jean-Paul" and laugh. The other names were Sheila from Australia, Wang from China/Taiwan (which one boy couldn't even pronounce Wang), and Carmen and Giovanni from Spain.

They kept laughing and giggling about Jean-Paul so I taught them more French names like Jacque and Pierre. I will admit, some of their voc. are ridiculous like they are learning Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. The other day I was teaching my other class what DNA means. Then in my other class today the boys and girls do not like to talk to each other at all. They are about ten-thirteen years old. Anyway they had to write their names and most of the boys were writing Angle instead of Angel and Janes instead of James. Silly students..
