This afternoon Drew, Cala, and I went to a bookstore sort of near our apartment and they sold mostly English books. It was awesome because there was a history section and I saw the book "Socialism is Great!" The author of the novel (Lijia Zhang<--I think that's the name) came to Iowa City to speak and I bought the book and she signed it. It was just cool seeing the novel on the bookshelf. There were other books as well that Cala and I recognized from our Chinese history courses at IOWA. I also saw a couple of Amy Tan novels too :)
While we were walking back, we passed a Filipino section of town like "Chinatown" which was interesting just because I didn't know a lot of Filipinos lived in Taipei. Today was nice though because I received my paycheck last week and now I have money to buy things lol Today I bought some things for teaching and it was nice just to eat what I wanted to eat!!
